Morna gained her BSc from Edinburgh University in the mid-seventies and has worked in the Cytogenetic and Genetic Toxicology fields since then. A family history of illness encouraged Morna to investigate how nutrition and lifestyle could have a positive effect on the family's wellbeing. This led her to study for the Diploma in Nutritional Therapy at the renowned Institute of Optimum Nutrition (ION) in London.
Her approach is to look at the body as a whole, and the interdependence and balance between our various bodily systems such as the digestive, hormonal and nervous systems. Her work helps us to understand the link between what we eat and the effect on our hormones, including stress hormones, which can often lead to cravings, headaches, irritability, lack of concentration and problems with weight management.
